Sunday Afternoon Fun

Many more days like this and we wouldn't even have to think twice about moving back to the country. Warm weather, great friends, loving family, and an activity that requires wide, open spaces make me a little homesick.

Hi Kelly,
Thanks for the email. I'm so glad to know that you have a blog too. I've also added you to my favorites list. I have loved your slide shows. I was wondering where in the country you guys were playing, and where you are from. You said that it made you homesick, and that made me curious about your country life experience. I often miss the small town life that I grew up with, but I do like the convenience of being so close to shopping and entertainment that I get in the bigger city. I'm so glad to be able to stay in touch with you and your family through the blog. It's such a fun way to communicate. I only wish I had more friends with blogs. Take care!
Blessings,
Amye

Amye,
Farrel grew up in Van Alstyne and our place was right outside of VA and I went to VA schools K-12. So, "home" is only a short 20 minute drive, but a world apart from the culture and environment of McKinney. I, too, would really miss all of the conveniences if we ever moved back. But, one of the biggest things that we struggle with is taking our kids out of MISD. We really do believe that there would be no comparison between the education that we are offered here vs. what we would have if we moved. It's hard--I know what we are giving up: the space, the simplicity, knowing everyone in your school building... It's a trade-off.
Happy New Year,
Kelly
